Screenshot-only generation

Visual analysis from an image when there is no URL to crawl.

Screenshot-only mode generates a specification from an image alone - no URL required. Available on Pro and Max plans.

When to use it

  • The design isn't live anywhere: mockups, Figma exports, dribbble shots, screenshots of apps
  • The site blocks automated browsers
  • You want a spec for a design you only have as an image

How it differs from URL analysis

This is the important part: with no live page to read, every value in the output is a visual estimate. Mateo's model judges colors, spacing, and typography from the pixels and marks values accordingly. It will not invent CSS variable names, exact shadow syntax it cannot see, or motion behavior - a static image carries no motion evidence, and the Motion section says so explicitly.

The result is honest and useful - but it is a designer's read of an image, not an extraction of an implementation. The quality flag on these runs reads "screenshot-only".

Requirements

  • PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 6 MB
  • Higher-resolution screenshots produce better estimates
  • Full-page captures beat cropped fragments

For the most accurate results when a URL exists, combine both - see URL + screenshot.
